I received my birthday present from M&D this morning, and spent part of the day settling in with it. It’s an 8GB iPod Nano to replace my now defunct 30GB iPod. I debated awhile between black (again), pink or red. Finally decided I was tired of black and the red made me think of U2 ads, so pink it was! No soft petal pink this, but a bright, flashy pink! Pink just the color of my raincoat and matching umbrella. Pink that you just can’t find in nature. PINK! It makes me happy just to look at it. :)

I’ve named it Jake. Engraved on its flip side it says:
M&D – April 13, 2008
Not hardly…
No one else in the entire world can appreciate my total amusement factor based on those two small words as much as my Mum & Dad. We all laughed like fools as soon as I said, “I called it Jake”.
(No, I don’t know anyone named Jake.) But still… Jake! FTW!
Happy belated Birthday Nicole! :D
LOL! Why thank you so much! Why I linked to my sad little excuse for a blog I’ll never know. :)
LOL, tis okay.I’m restructuring right now so my blog is down.
I was thinking about getting an iPod soon. I think I would go for the black, but I;m afraid it would show scratches like my phone.
The piano finish black ipod I spent all my time polishing on my shirt, beause fingerprints simply annoy me to no end, but all the rubbing led to (you guessed it) tiny scratches! The pink one, on the other hand, is more of a matte finish so it doesn’t show fingerprints (unless you count the shiny silver back, but who’s looking besides me?) and is tough to scratch. Highly recommend any of the colors besides black if you’re anywhere near as anal as I am. :)
Yep, you pegged me. I hate scratches AND fingerprints!
Glad you found a color you liked. The squat shape is strangely more appealing than the old IPods.
It was nice of your parents to engrave yours, that makes it a special gift.
I’m always trying to convince customers to name new printers “Fred”.
No reason – I know no “Fred”‘s, but I’d just like to do it.
Funniest name for a printer: “frozenbill”. Fish packing plant..
Another customer called their server “Link” (yes, of course there was a Link terminal attached to it).
I sold my first iPod, got another, gave that to my niece.. glad to read your advice about black, so I guess that’s out.. I don’t think I should do Pink (my Poker buddies would give me too much grief) but I’ll definitely avoid black.
Hi Tony!
That’s funny, because growing up I named every frog, fish and lizard I caught, “Bob”. Can you say tomboy? So when I bought my first PC, it had to be Bob as well. These days it’s getting tougher to name things. I do hate to veer from my childhood obsession, but it gets confusing around here when someone talks about Bob. Hell, that could be four things within my reach right this minute.
Don’t be afraid of pink! The benefits may far outweigh the grief! :)
